Growth Numbers
700,000+ - Where can you learn from industry titans for free every day? Podcasts.
9 Zeros - “Jay-Z is a billionaire,” I thought before I came across this piece by Forbes that I guess makes it official with a cool breakdown of all of his properties.
$476 million - That sounds like a great number unless you were worth $3 billion about 10 years ago. Maybe Elliot Management can turn Barnes & Noble around.
Stop Getting Ghosted
Having been in sales for most of my career, I’ve had to do my fair share of “cold calling.” I use the quotation marks because I don’t consider cold calling just picking up the phone and dialing. Today there is a multitude of methods for reaching out to people. I cover 9 of them in this article. CLouvi.com (4 minutes)
Go Old Or Go Home
Most people hate change. But people are also starting to get fed up with low quality content, privacy breaches and endless feeds of FOMO. Marketers are seeing an uptick in email newsletters. The channel that seems to be proclaimed every year as “dying” is coming back strong. The New York Times (6 minutes)
Pivot And Grow
Startups are hard. It’s hard to raise money. It’s hard to execute on the vision. It’s hard to deliver for the customer. We rarely hear about how hard they are. We usually hear about how much money was raised or how big an exit was because it’s sexy. It’s a rare treat to be able to hear from a Founder about the ups and downs required to build a successful startup up but Matthieu Vaxelaire, CEO of Mention, does that in this piece. Book It
A few years ago Mike Myers produced a documentary called Supermensch which gives a glimpse into the life of the celebrity manager Shep Gordon. He’s responsible for managing the careers of stars such as Alice Cooper, Emeril Lagasse and Luther Vandross. After the movie Shep did an autobiography to expand on the documentary. I’ve listened to it at least 10 times. His lessons on building a business and how to create win-win-win situations are priceless. Plus, he’s a great storyteller! Amazon
Fresh Picked Growth App
2 weeks ago I literally asked my wife to take my phone away from me after my kids and I sat for nearly 90 minutes straight watching 15-second videos of people doing incredible (and dumb) things set to popular music. Visual communication needs to be a key driver of your growth development. TikTok

Need Help Innovating?
For as long as I can remember, the only thing I love doing more than playing sports is building innovative ideas with technology. People often ask me how we can work together. I structure my engagements in three ways.
  1. Innovation Strategy - Do you have a business problem that you can’t solve or don’t have time to solve? Bring me on to get a fresh set of eyes on a business problem that you have.
  2. Innovation Coaching or Consulting - Once I build the strategy, you have the option of hiring me as a coach or a consultant. Coach: I will coach you on the execution of the strategy. Consultant: I will build the team and lead the execution for you.
  3. Sales Training - Do you have a sales pipeline problem? It’s likely because your sales process stagnant or non-existent. We have a sales training program that is designed to increase your sales pipeline immediately.

P.S.
Ignoring stress is a very, very, very bad idea. It will never leave, it will build up, and in due time it will fry your brain like an egg in a skillet. -John Carlton on Stress Management
